“Necropolis” the dark arts group show at Congregation Gallery

Oh blog, it’s been too long. Why you ask? Well, because I have been burning the candle at every end possible (I guess that’s 2, but you get the point) with art shows, and work related chaos. I do apologize, and STILL have to get pics up from all the random stuff I’ve been getting myself into lately.

Firstly, the biggest news. My painting was chosen to be included in Necropolis- the dark arts group show at the Congregation Gallery in Los Angeles, California! The opening is this Saturday night at 9pm, and has a RIDICULOUS artist list. I am heading out to Cali Friday so I can attend the opening and experience all the evil within. Hahaha. Cam Rackam curated this very cool art show, and I am super stoked to be included with these bad ass artists!

After I get back from LA, it’s my BFF’s bday so I’ll be doing some celebrating, and then Miss Kat Gun will be taking a very much needed lil family vacation. Sigh. Finally. Then it’ll be time for August and my solo show here in Philly and all that lovely end of summer fun!

G40 and Art Whino.. yeahh..

So, just an update from Kat Gun land.. my skate deck for the G40 event, “Bone-R,”  SOLD. So, for those of you who love boobs and skulls as much as I do, you’ll just have to buy my piece from the Speaking In Tongues Show “Queen Of The Neighborhood,” or sit tight for the next one.

I know I STILL need to update this thing with pictures, but I’m currently working my tail off on a piece that will hopefully be done by Friday for a very cool show (will make THAT info public when it’s more definite), and album art for the band Dirge if Methuselah. Good freakin metal. Nice.

Speaking In Tongues group art show write up!

First things first. Well, this isn’t really the first, but it’s the coolest. The wonderful folks down at Hi-Fructose (particularly Ms JL Schnabel) wrote a lil thing on the mighty Speaking In Tongues show that I was super stoked to be a part of.. andd… guess who’s painting was featured within the article?? paint paint paint paint

So, I attended the G40 opening reception last Friday in Washington DC. Holy hell can Art Whino put on one heck of an art show!! There was so much amazing, from the murals to the wheatpaste to the stencils to the skate decks to the featured artists’ paintings, it was hard to keep your bearings! Multiple floors of jaw dropping goodness!! Plus there was music, free Vitamin Water, ping pong and all sorts of stuff to tantilize the senses. I had a blast and was super happy to meet a bunch of other artists, and the employees of Art Whino. I look forward to showing with them again, cause they certainly have it going on! Pics will come very soon!

So, I am now gearing up for the Speaking In Tongues group art show that’s here in Philly on Friday June 3rd at the Black Vulture Tattoo Shop and Gallery. I’ve mentioned it like a million times, but whatevs… it’s going to be nuts. I’m painting about 10 hours a day (when possible) to finish my painting for the event- since of course I started a new piece when I was halfway through my original one and ended up hating it. haha. But it’s getting there, and I’m getting stoked. Let’s do this.

Gimme some skin..

G40: The Summit opens to the public tonight. So excited. I am gearing up for the 2.5 hour drive to Washington DC this afternoon, but have no idea what to wear yet. Ha.
