So, it’s time for the annual Jinxed HeArt Show again! I’m excited to participate in this super fun group show that is held in February at Jinxed in the Piazza here in cold-as-shit Philadelphia. I picked up my blank heart today and have to get started with my piece. I’ll keep ya’ll posted on the actual date for the show, for it’s not to be missed.

It’s that time again!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags jealousy on January 20, 2010 by Kat GunI have this thorn in my side. A slight little “prick” one might say, that will not fully commit itself to my memory and/or past. This “prick” does not seem to see how delusional and unimportant it really is.. but I’m sure deep down it knows.

Oh man why does October ever have to end??
Posted in Stuff the sounds like fun to do, Uncategorized with tags Candy Foot, Halloween on October 21, 2009 by Kat GunSo duh.. by now it’s obvious I love October and all it’s about. I am one of those people who wishes the Fall was like 6 months long filled with beautiful crispy weather and spooky stuff and pumpkins and pumpkin beer.
That being said, my hubby and I spent over an hour and a half in Walmart the other night in their Halloween/candy section. It was glorious for serious sweet tooths like ourselves, and made us feel like children again. We were so happy just walking around the orange and black aisles that we broke our the picture phone and started snapping pics of the awesome-est stuff we found.

A giant gummy foot.. this thing was heavy!
Anyway, I would def. consider this giant, heavy gummy severed foot Art. I don’t know about you, but it created a sense of awe just like some of the pieces hanging in the galleries of Old City.
I didn’t buy it, however, because I like my teeth where they are (in my head) and spotted smaller scale gummy brains a little further down the aisle which did make it into my basket… so there ya go.
Also, the Day of the Dead exhibit from the Autumn Sketch Society is still up for all you artsy folks, and Adam Wallacavage has an opening at the Jonathon Levine Gallery in NYC this Saturday.. it’s a group show but should be great.
Smell ya later. XOXO

I am Kat Gun. I am an artist, a music obsesser, and a baker of tasty treats. This lil blog is to track me and my artistic pursuits in the visual arts, my studies in art history, and some fine baked good decorating.
Get ready for some fun.
